During the pandemic, I first came across a YouTube video discussing historic lost media. This started an obsession with researching lost media. I have always been obsessed with learning about history, and the intrigue of lost media really hooked me. Whilst the lost media phenomenon is quite well documented, with its own dedicated wiki and subreddit dedicated to searching for media, there's nothing specific for Australian lost media.

There's plenty of Australian lost media in the form of TV shows and films, but I've noticed there's not much focus on old TV ads. That's where my background comes in.

In the last five years, I've worked alongside my father scanning and digitising old negatives, photos, and VHS tapes. Digitising VHS tapes to find interesting and funny old Aussie ads has become a fun pastime for me.
